{UAH} Kenya's despised AG resigns; replaced by another Kikuyu

The resignation of Prof. Githu Muigai, as Kenya's Attorney-General is a relief to President Kenyatta. 

The prof had proved to be an inept legal adviser, even given to manufacturing legal clauses that do not exist in the penal codes, in order to send omnibus warnings to the president's political rivals.

Moreover, the fact that the president made dual announcements - Mugai's resignation and his replacement - helps to explain that the professor was not resigning in a voluntary manner. 

As a replacement, the president has nominated another tribesmate. 

While the nominee is a qualified jurist, with an impressive record in the Bench, it still comes to negative tribalism: the phobic need to surround oneself with one's tribesmate. 

For going tribal here, I think President Kenyatta is true to his jingoistic instincts that have extended their tendrils in most sensitive government agencies - from security dockets to budget-rich departments. This is another reason that most Kenyans consider Uhuru Kenyatta as a Kukuyu President, or the President of Kenya.
