-- Police have transferred embattled police officer former Buyende District Police Commander ASP Muhammad Kirumira to Nalufenya Police Detention Centre.
Kirumira was reportedly transferred last night from the Railway Police Post where he was remanded on Thursday by the Police Tribunal. The news of Kirumira's transfer was first broken by his wife Mariam Kirumira, who had gone to the Police Post along Jinja Road to check on him.
Mariam Kirumira says she was told at the post that her husband had been taken to Nalufenya.
In a Facebook post, she claims that as she headed to the Police post, she was attacked by a group of thugs who tried to beat her and threatened to terminate her pregnancy.
