{UAH} Ocen/Pojim/WBK/Allan/Gook: Raila and NASA leadership dismiss rumors the coalition is falling apart

- The NASA leadership has come out strongly to dismiss claims the coalition is almost collapsing
- Raila, Kalonzo, Musali and Wetangula said they were working in ensuring they achieve their objectives of electoral and police reforms in the country
- There have been rife claims the coalition is experiencing turbulent times following Raila Odinga's controversial swearing-in
- Kalonzo Musyoka has for instance been quoted in several media issuing conflicting statements over his stand in NASA NASA leaders have moved to quell any rumors regarding their impending split after weeks of speculation. In a harsh statement signed by the principals, NASA slammed the media for what they alleged was strong misinformation regarding the alliance.

"Section of the media have in recent days used vibrant exchange of views within the National Super Alliance mostly on fringe issues to portray the coalition as divided and on the verge of collapse.,"

Part of the statement read. There have been strings of reports in recent times over potential discord within the NASA leaders, more recently after the outlawed inauguration of leader Raila Odinga on January 30.

The conspicuous absence of all three other co principals (Mudavadi, Wetangula and Kalonzo) from the controversial event brew more speculation that there was an impending fallout.

Kalonzo has on numerous occasions said he was firmly behind the coalition but his recent moves seemed to suggest otherwise.

One of his most controversial moves took place on Tuesday, February 13 when he openly distanced himself from a "swearing in" ceremony on grounds that doing so would ultimately foil his 2022 presidential ambitions.

Despite the clear differences in opinion among NASA leadership, they maintained that their ideology for electoral reforms remained paramount in their overall agenda.

NASA remains a broad-based coalition that is very specific about the things that it needs to do economically and socially to strengthen governance and enhance democratization in the country. The coalition is relentlessly pursuing those goals.

Among the issues they are setting their sights on included Electoral Justice, Police Reforms, Strengthening the Judiciary, Strengthening Devolution and Reforming the Executive.
