{UAH} SALAM TV TONIGHT
POLICE COUNCIL SHOULD BE CHAIRED BY THE PRESIDENT
In seventies, Defence Council, Police Council, Prisons Council, were
all chaired by President Idi Amin Dada, in his capacity as Commander
In Chief of the Armed Forces.
However, under the new laws, it is only the Defence Council that is
chaired by the President, or Minister responsible for Defence.
The President should preside over Police Council and Prisons Council
so that he gets first hand information from District Police
Commanders and District Prisons Commanders.
Today's police council meeting has been opened by Minister for
Internal Affairs Al Haji Gen. Abubaker Jeje Oding and addressed by
Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura. That is ordinary and
little is expected from it.
If it is the will of God, tonight from 11.00 pm to 12.00 midnight, on
Salam TV, in Akafubo program moderated by Twaha Mukiibi, l and Mr.
Basajjamivule Nsilonkambwe shall try to compare and contrast past and
police council sessions and the way forward.
We shall also comment on the ongoing staff restructuring exercise and
verbal artilleries between Secretary General Justine Kasule Lumumba
and Electoral Chairperson Tanga Odoi and what should be their fate.
Good night, stay tuned.
