Across #Ethiopia's #Oromia region, shops and markets are closed and transport paralysed as protesters begin the first of three days of a boycott called by activists. In some places, public buses and minivans withdrew their services leaving many people stranded. Schools have also been affected.

The strike action is against the state of emergency announced by the government last month, which was controversially ratified by parliament last week.
