IS THIS THE RESULT OF THE BAMUGEMEREIRE LAND COMMISSION IN KASESE?

With the untold land wrangles in Kasese and the entire Rwenzori, there was some ray of hope early this month after the land inquiry commission had grilled some opportunists grabbing people's land.

But barely a week after this, the mafias only waited for justice Bamugemerire and her team to leave so that they can continue from where they had stopped.

Earlier on last week, the house of a one Baluku Tom plus his neighbor from Nyamwamba division in Kasese municipality were demolished down on orders of the district planner.

When they made follow up, this officer first told them that there houses were too near the road but when they pressed him hard to give them the correct plan so they can rebuild again, he later revealed to them that the plots in question were bought some years back by some Indian investor called Prakas and therefore their houses had been demolished on orders of that Indian investor.
He further revealed to them that the Indian investor even had land titles that were reportedly given to him by the former district chairperson Kasese district Rev. Kithaghenda.

When Rev Kithaghenda was contacted, he agreed to have some clue about those land titles but said it was done in a rightful after all the village authorities had signed but the village authorities denied this.

When the district land board was contacted, they said they don't have the records of such land title and said may be it had been processed from Kampala.

The question is who are these bigwigs?
Where do they want this humble young man to go after grabbing his small plot without compensation?
What is the mission behind?

Otherwise this may look to be an individual issue for the two affected individuals but tomorrow it could be you bearing it in mind that an injustice somewhere is an injustice everywhere.

All we can cling on is the hope that there is still hope.
