Aging gracefully : Former Botswana President enjoys retirement
Former President of the Republic of Botswana, Ian Khama, 65, who just recently handed over the reigns to Festus Mogae as president after 10 years of ruling, is no stranger to the public as he is the people's very own sweetheart.
The son of the late Sir Seretse (the clay that binds together) Khama who was Botswana's first post-independence leader in 1966 to 1980, has been spotted attending local matches at rural communities, outside the Capital City, Gaborone. Isn't that inspiring?
Not only is the people's sweetheart a 'mere' spectator but he is also participates in these football matches and has recently showed off his football skills.
The former leader of Botswana Democratic Party (BDP)'s close control, first touch and dizzyingly yet delightful hazy feet, make him an absolute nightmare to mark. The way he holds a magnetic will, over the ball, turning defender after defender into nothing more than just bemused spectators, before sending it to the back of the net is one pleasant sight.
And he does all of this with a smiling demeanor.
Every dribble he embarked on, left defenders kissing the ground and 'fans' in awe of such greatness.
Mr Khama is also a die hard fan of Barcelona.
Spain based FC Barcelona legends representatives such as former Barcelona defence midfielder, Mr Edgar Davids and Barcelona legends team manager, Mr Magin Civantos, just to name a few, recently paid a courtesy call on the former president.
A real leader, selfless, multi-talented and definitely without a doubt, graceful in everything he does, Mr Ian Khama has indeed proved to us that age is nothing but a number.
