Are you following Dr Kashambuzi's brutal war with Dr Kiiza Besigye, and the FDC, which has been raging for the past two weeks? It seesm Rukungiri politics is now dominating Ugandans politics. The rukungirians are threatening to take over from the Rwandan Tutsis. About a year ago, I had a brutal debate with Dr Kashambuzi on Facebook, but mainly on ideology. He gave up when he found out I was no pushover in debate.

Besigye and his misrata brigade exposed

In December 2016, I began a conversation about how the cult leader of the radical extremist wing of the FDC, also opposition presidential candidate for life, Dr Kizza Besigye, is worse than President Yoweri Museveni. Instead of responding to the issues I was rising, he actively encouraged his hooligans to hurl insults and abuses at me.

His hooligan supporters - most of whom are semi illiterate, uncouth, intolerant and - not just undemocratic but most critically anti-democratic - could only attack my person through insults and false accusations. But what they didn't know is that they were knocking themselves against a brick wall reinforced with steel and concrete. They were routed.

Besigye fears criticism. He has sidelined all the educated, refined, tolerant and liberal democratic minded leaders of FDC like the great Abdul Katuntu, the noble Mugisha Muntu, the passionate Alice Alaso, the cerebral Morris Ogenga-Latigo, the articulate Ronald Reagan Okumu, the enlightened Augustine Ruzindana, etc.

In their place he has surrounded himself with riffraffs, hooligans, scoundrels - in short the worst elements in our society - whom he encourages to use social media to terrorize anyone and everyone who raises criticism of him. Yet this is the man who claims to have left NRM because Museveni was not tolerant of criticism.

But the problems I raised could not (and cannot) be brushed under the carpet. Now they are returning to haunt Besigye through the posts of a thoughtful old man, even though much younger than me, Erick Kashambuzi. Below is one of his posts - and he is a supporter and admirer of Besigye but could not continue with the conspiracy of silence and has engulfed that party.

People in FDC are afraid to speak out against the cult leader for fear of being massacred on social media. I call upon all FDC people to send me their criticism. I will be publishing it on this platform, the most read analysis of Ugandan politics.
