Sofapaka coach John 'Barry' Baraza broke the news of his demise with an emotional post on his Facebook page which read:"Very sad for us as Sofapaka family,we are in mourning; hit by the news that Baagole is no more.Rest in peace Ssebo. He was very instrumental in surviving relegation. He led from front as a captain.A good hearted man — at one time buying a full set of uniform for Sofa under 20.He was really a likeable and respected figure during his time at Sofapaka."

In a separate interview with Citizen Digital, Baraza was at pains to explain the loss. He said:" I got the information that he passed on this morning when he was being rushed to hospital. It is saddening.

"He was a down to earth soul, deeply liked by his team- mates.He played an integral role in the team.I knew him long before I became his coach, we were team-mates and he was a good leader."

Immediately news of his death broke out, his former team mates took the cue, sending condolences messages, among them, Posta Rangers winger Danson Kago who played with him at Sofapaka, as well as veteran defender George 'Wise' Owino.
