{UAH} POLITCIZED FBI USED RUSSIANS TO TARGET TRUMP'S CAMPAIGN

Russians Who Claimed FBI Ties Offered to Sell Clinton Dirt to Trump Associates

Two former Trump campaign associates say they were approached by a Russian national offering to sell dirt on Hillary Clinton in May 2016. Roger Stone and Michael Caputo both say the offer sounded like a setup from the beginning.

The meeting took place two months earlier than federal officials have said a counterintelligence operation was officially opened and before WikiLeaks began releasing hacked Democratic emails.

The FBI declined to comment but has said its counterintelligence investigation didn’t begin until July 2016, two months after the meeting.

Though the Bureau and Special Counsel Robert Mueller have adamantly held to the line that investigations that involved the Trump campaign did not begin until July 2016, there are several incidents in which it is obvious their lying through their teeth.

Several members of the campaign besides Stone and Caputo were approached by another U.S. government informant seeking to gather intelligence on Russian efforts to influence the race. Several news outlets including The Wall Street Journal, NBC News, and the Washington Post have identified one such FBI confidential source as Cambridge University professor Stefan A. Halper.

The meeting between Stone and a man calling himself Henry Greenberg was detailed in a pair of letters sent Friday to the House Intelligence Committee by Stone and Caputo’s lawyers. The Associated Press obtained the letters that indicate Caputo received a call from his Russian business partner in late May 2016. According to the letter, the business partner introduced Caputo to Greenberg. He claimed he had information damaging to Clinton that he wanted to sell to the Trump campaign.

Caputo told AP that people from Mueller’s team asked him about the meeting at length. “They knew more than I did, which set off alarms,” he recalled. “I thought — was this a setup?”

Stone and Caputo, did not previously disclose the meeting to congressional investigators because both say the brief meeting didn’t seem significant at the time. Now, they believe U.S. law enforcement officials hostile to Trump made them the target of setup.

Greenberg and Stone met in late May 2016 in South Florida at a cafe. Stone recalls that Greenberg, was wearing a Trump t-shirt and “Make America Great Again” hat, and claimed to have “access to non-specific, damaging Clinton information which he wanted to sell.”

“Mr. Greenberg was emphatic that his asking price was $2,000,000. Mr. Stone quickly replied that he did not have $2,000,000 and even if he did, he would never pay for political information.”

“You don’t understand Donald Trump,” said Stone who rejected offer at the restaurant in the Russian-expat home base of Sunny Isles, FL. He added, that Trump “doesn’t pay for anything.”

Additional documents and interviews show that Greenberg, operating at times as Henry Oknyansky has a long history of informing for the FBI. Though the Bureau claims that relationship ended in 2013, records show that the government granted him special permission for up to 17 years to enter the United States because he represented a “significant public benefit.”

Reached by phone, Greenberg at first denied Stone’s account of the meeting saying, “This is wrong information.” However, in later text messages, Greenberg changed his story. In those, he acknowledged to a Post reporter that he did indeed meet with Stone.

Later, in text messages to a Post reporter, Greenberg changed his story, acknowledging that he’d met with Stone but denied any mention of offering information on Clinton. In those texts, Greenberg used virtually the same language as Stone to describe Stone’s reaction: “Trump will never pay for anything,”

Caputo said in an interview: “If you believe that [Greenberg] took time off from his long career as an FBI informant to reach out to us in his spare time, I have a bridge in Brooklyn that I want to sell you.”

Mueller has spent over a year and $17 Million, trying to prove Russian meddling in the 2016 election and that Trump campaign aides played a role in the foreign interference plot.

“WITCH HUNT!” Trump tweeted on Sunday, insisting:

“Oh, I see, there was no Russian Collusion, so now they look for obstruction on the no Russian Collusion. The phony Russian Collusion was a made up Hoax. Too bad they didn’t look at Crooked Hillary like this. Double Standard!”

Considering the Department of Justice IG report, FBI leadership are hardly the ones to trust in the matter.
