What has happened in the 2018 World cup is that it has been a tournament of mediocres performing at their highest

levels and the aces being knocked off because of complacency.

Brazil actually defeated itself by scoring a goal for Belgium. The Swedes are ruing why they lefty out Ibrahimovic while

the Germans were over taken by unwarranted Confidence.

Messi and Argentina played on the authority of their names and hence their very early exit.

So far the teams that really played even though not fortunate to progress were: Senegal,Columbia,Switzerland and Uruguay.

All the teams being currently praised  only hard luck smiling over them.

I think, the heavy fights will be between Belgium and France. From these two teams, I think Croatia will lose bigly. This means between Belgium and France the one who will face England would meet real tough players in Sterling, Lingard, Ali Dele etal. Unfortunately, Rashford is not having some high pitch football!

Yes, they have a chance of reaching the finals. They are winning, winning and winning, but the football is boring. It has helped them to have a team without guys with big egos. They are playing as a team, and the England goal keeper is astonishingly good.

that apart, the game will be like an EPL game although at a hyper levels. Many players play in the EPL. Three of the four goalies let player in the EPL. Therefore an EPL goalie will; play in the final game due to the overlap principle.

What else did this world cup teach us? That having a big name star on the team can be harmful  to the team's prospects. That it is better to have almost average players who embrace team work than an ego centric star who wants all the attention. Germany with its machine like game. Gone before round of 16. Portugal and Ronaldo humbled in round of 16. ditto Messi and Argentina. So too was Spain and of course Brazil.

FYI, the only star player or super star in any  team game who can truly take it over and win is LeBron James formerly of the Cleveland Cavs  and now LA Lakers. To bad, no more LeBron against the mighty Warriors in the NBA finals. That contest will be much sooner in the Western Conference. Some y wonder why did LeBron leave the relatively more balanced Eastern Conference to join the much more talented Western Conference? May be win another title for a third team to become the G.O.A.T

We also learned that  African teams are just unlucky.

Alas, how did the world miss the impact of the EPL on football? Who can argue the EPL is not the best in terms of balance? Players from lower tier are playing in the world cup and contributing?

So folks, be relay for the EPL dominated World Cup finals. No more denials.

The English famously said in survey's they prefer beer to sex. Well last night then Wednesday and next sundae wild be something to watch. I means the pubs  must have been packed beyond capacity.
