10 MAJOR DEATHS OF POLITICIANS THAT SHOCKED KENYA

We have witnessed a series of high profile deaths in the recent past, most have followed a shocking trend of victims dropping dead — some in unclear and suspicious circumstances and Kenyans have never had a vivid explanation of what exactly happened.

Below are instances of political and public figures, whose untimely deaths took many Kenyans by surprise and some, who died under circumstances that remain unknown to this date

 

1. Joseph Nkaiserry
After a Prayer meeting at Uhuru Park, the healthy and robust former Internal security CS met a few friends and then drove home, where he is said to have collapsed and died…mysterious, huh? He wasn't having health issues lately so it took Kenyans totally by surprise. Truth be said, the cause of his death, "Heart attack" has not convinced many Kenyans yet, we are waiting for more postmortem tests to establish what exactly transpired.

2.George Saitoti and Orwa Ojodeh
Former minister for Internal security and his assistant Orwa Ojodeh died in a horrifying air accident after the chopper they were traveling in crashed in Kibiku forest on 10 June 2012. The deaths of the two hit a big blow to the country which was almost heading to elections.
The commision tasked to investigate the matter never came out with some solid explanation. What Kenyans know was that there was a malfunction with the plane and there could have been a "high concentration of carbon monoxide" in the plane…but was that enough?

 

3.Mutula Kilonzo

Mutula Kilonzo, the former Makueni County Senator was found dead on April 27, 2013. For a man who was active and in good health, his death was so shocking. To date, many theories are still awash as to what exactly caused his death.

 

4.George Muchai
Brutally murdered in another series of high profile deaths, the then Kabete Mp was killed by a gunman but the mysterious part is that the killer was never found even after state intervention.

5.George Thuo
The former Juja MP dropped dead on November 17, 2013, at a Restaurant in Thika town. He had joined friends at the club and was enjoying drinks.The politician may have died of food poisoning.

 

6.Otieno Kajwang'
This former Homa Bay senator passed on around November 19. A lot of theories have been said with regard to his death but nothing is really known about the cause of his death.How, where and when exactly Otieno Kajwang' breathed his last remains a mystery.

 

7.Jacob Juma
Businessman Jacob Juma was shot dead on May 5, 2016, by unknown gunmen in Nairobi near Lenana School. His bullet-riddled vehicle was found in a ditch. Mr. Juma was a contractor who also had interests in mining and never shied away from controversy.
The killers were never found as they never left a single trace clue.

8.Fidel Odinga
We were gearing towards a new year when the news came in. The son of NASA presidential aspirant was found dead in his Karen home on Sunday morning in unclear circumstances.

 

9.Abubakar Shariff alias Makaburi
Abubakar was a vocal Muslim preacher. He was shot at and killed by unidentified assailants who were in a getaway car.
Another Muslim preacher who met the same fate is Sheikh Aboud Rogo…all of whose killers were never found

 

10. Chris Msando 

He was a Kenyan election official whose body was found severely tortured and strangled to death few weeks to elections in 2017.

Note: Other circumstances above may be natural by mystic deaths.
