{UAH} Fire razes down dorms at Nyahururu, Hola high schools

At Hola Boy's Secondary School, 'Chui' dormitory that houses 60 students caught fire while students were in class for preps on Saturday night.
According a teacher who sought anonymity, they heard an explosion, followed by a blackout before the dormitory caught fire.
Tana River County Director of Education Mr Gitonga Mbaka said the fire might have been caused by electric fault.
Property worth millions of shillings have been lost after fire razed down dormitories at Nyahururu and Hola Boys secondary schools.
Nyandarua County Commissioner Mr Boaz Cherutich has said that the cause of the fire at Nyahururu Boys High School is yet to be established.
"We have launched investigations to establish the cause of the fire. Already officers are on the ground," said Mr Cherutich who added that only 76 students were affected.

EXPLOSION
According a teacher who sought anonymity, they heard an explosion, followed by a blackout before the dormitory caught fire.
"The explosion was sudden, followed by a blackout. We took fire extinguishers and ran to put out the fire unfortunately, we were not able to save anything," he said.
Tana River County Director of Education Mr Gitonga Mbaka said the fire might have been caused by electric fault.
"We suspect that the fire might have been caused by an electric fault, but we will still carry out investigations to establish the actual cause," he said. Ends
