SV: {UAH} A TROUBLING REVOLT IN FDC. SHOULD POA GO NUCLEAR?

I think, politics within FDC does not need genuine persons but deceptive persons such as BESIGYE and many other folks in Uganda. I am at pains that this POA man is being used as a rotten water pipes! Please, do not get me wrong but BESIGYE is a wrong man for internal party democracy, the thing both BESIGYE and M7 said they went to the Luweero triangle bush to fight OBOTE and UPC of violating. 

Now as it stand, it is both M7 and BESIGYE staying firm as leaders of their political parties for 30 plus years and still counting both are still leaders. My question is, why are you telling me that MUNTU is wrong when he wants to build internal democracy in FDC?

Muntu has a problem. I think he is in  the wrong business! I have ever worked with him in my personal capacity as a businessman. While I found him trustworthy, he does not have the rawness needed to give Kaguta sleepness nites! He is a distraction in the "managed opposition!"

Opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president Patrick Amuriat Oboi has told Mugisha Muntu, his predecessor, to choose between obeying party rules and quit.

On August 9, Amuriat welcomed the newly appointed leader of opposition in parliament, Betty Aol Ochan.

Last week, Amuriat shook up the opposition leadership of parliament, dropping all Muntu allies — except party spokesperson Ssemujju Nganda.

He replaced Kasese Woman MP Winnie Kiiza with Gulu district woman MP Aol.

Muntu, who Amuriat defeated in last year's party presidential election in 2017, is yet to announce his next course of action after the completion of his consultations.

Muntu insists Ugandans are desperate for change.

So far, Muntu no longer sings the party slogan of 'One People, One Uganda', but his 'Country Before Self' tagline.

And with this mindset Muntu has defied the party directive to support Bruce Musema, the FDC official candidate in the Arua Municipality byelection.

Muntu, FDC deputy spokesperson Paul Mwiru, and  Francis Gonahasa (Kabweri County, in Kibuku) are backing FDC-leaning independent candidate and former Terego county MP Kassiano Wadri.

Amuriat Warns Muntu

But Amuriat has warned Muntu, Mwiru and Gonahasa.

"If the so-called joint coalition wants to make a statement, they should state it," said Amuriat at FDC headquarters in Najjanankumbi on August 9.

"And to my members of the FDC, they must decide whether they want to be in the FDC or they want to be elsewhere."

For emphasis, Amuriat added: "That too we are prepared for."

But before the decision to have Muntu and his allies ejected from the party.

"We are going to hold a discussion on this matter and find out why members of the FDC, leaders at that, would choose to go against the chosen candidate of the FDC and go for an independent," said Amuriat.

On her part, Aol preached unity.

"If love our country, we really need to work together," said Aol.

FCC seems to be unravelling so quickly. Imagine they are now putting two candidates in the so-called eledions in Arua, one supported by Besigye and the other by Mugisha Muntu.

I should not criticise other political parties because i have a lot of trouble in my own parties here in the UK and in Uganda, But FDC seems to be embarked on a path of euthanasia or voluntary suicide.

So you have 29 FDC MPs in revolt against party president POA's recent reshuffle and are reportedly (and allegedly) planning to launch a parliamentary pressure group eventually to be transformed into a separate political party.

Secondly, these 'renegade' MPs are, allegedly, withholding their monthly party contributions of 500K shillings each from the party.

Thirdly these very MPs allegedly met clandestinely and allegedly agreed to the aforementioned.

Clearly therefore they want out of the party but are not ready to do so immediately for fear of triggering multiple immediate by elections if they immediately resigned from the party.

So what should party leader POA do in the face of such open defiance and flagrant violation of party rules by these renegades?

1. Wait around until they formally leave FDC when the alleged new party is formed ? 
2. Try to dialogue with them in the hope that they'll return to full cooperation?

3. Do nothing and let things roll on to their inevitable natural conclusion, a slow divorce ?

4. Go nuclear by expelling the lot since they are on their way out anyway. This is the nuclear option with huge ramifications.

I'd lance this boil or boils by going nuclear come what may! No party can or should operate under such blackmail, without rules or one in which members violate rules with wanton abandon. This must not be inflicted upon Ugandans.
