{UAH} Apple's with Fenne
I have read one Professor Mwambutsya Ndebesa here, with Muniini K Mulera in support, comparing Uganda with old, established countries. That presidents were assasinated there and no dog or cat was harmed in ref to USA, Sweden etc! A seasoned historian shouldn't let himself be even rumoured to have made direct comparisons between Uganda and the USA/Sweden/Israel. It is inexcusably fallacious to compare ffene with apples.
Of course a lot more - far, far more - is at stake when a head of state of a highly unstable, post conflict Third World country is assassinated, more so, in the powder keg called Africa Great Lakes Region. A lot, a whole lot, can go very seriously wrong if a Museveni or Kagame etc was seriously harmed. Any insightful observer should see that; so should any hot-headed adventurer in search of celebrity and instant glory.
We all know what happened in Rwanda when an assasination happened recently. The point is, the level of hair trigger alertness, peeled eye vigilance and aggressiveness in ensuring the safety of a personage like Museveni is commensurate with what is at stake if he was harmed. It is only the most tragically thoughtless individual that can be in denial over that fact. And in Arua, you are talking of a community that laid down it's arms just over a decade ago; a place where furniture recently paid the ultimate price following the death of Col Abiriga. And the Prof is urging civility on the part of the Museveni protection detail!
A Bobi wine who then goes out there to excite the populace, atop a Mogadishu-like 'technical', donning a military police beret, in command of a grader which he then deploys into the President's convoy, and then throwing stones at that convoy: that is an individual who needs urgent help, more than anything else, before he stretches his lack beyond the Rubicon.
