Please take Annette Kobu along to the Agogo festival and play her your favourite song when you were 18 years old. I used to be very good at playing these instruments- and even occasionally joined the traditional musicians in encore, until my mom intervened and directed that books and not traditional music was my only vocation.
AKOGO Festival We are excited and honored to be hosting #EmjaeRoss from USA Austin,Texas for a charity concert 2018. He will be performing live in Kampala along side other lead artists and our Akogo select groups.
EmJae Ross is a highly gifted, young Americana singer/songwriter born in San Angelo, TX and raised within the music industry, spending nearly every day of his childhood in the radio station control rooms and production studios of a family-owned radio business. As a child EmJae developed an extensive talent for drums, piano and guitar. He also developed a lyrical and soulful voice advanced through professional training in classical methodology. Today, EmJae Ross lives in Austin, where he gigs regularly as a solo/acoustic performer and as a front man with his backing band. EmJae channels his awe-inspiring resiliency into singing and songwriting, sharing a captivating style and a miraculously potent voice that audiences find both emotive and inspirational. "Music quite literally saved my life," EmJae once told The Chronicle. "It's the only thing we all can connect to. If you take away the diversity of Cultures, you wouldn't have the same Music remaining. Music is what defines us, but no matter the rhythms or melodies, it all takes us to the same place when we feel, and begin to self soothe trough what it is we are hearing. We all want to be heard, but we don't all get to be a voice, and that's what I aim to do with my music, because it connects with hearts. I want to help people through their problems, by making that connection."
