Couple which was shot by assailants succumb to gunshot wounds

On Wednesday, Zamu Kenkoonzi , the Kabale based businesswoman who was shot together with her husband by unidentified succumbed to the gunshot wounds. Kenkoonzi breathed her last at Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital where she was rushed together with her husband, Francis Aryarugamu.

Today, the husband has also succumbed to the gunshots wounds.

The deceased were on Tuesday night 14th August rushed to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital in critical condition after they were shot by yet to be identified gunmen in Kabale Municipality.

Francis Aryarugamu, 52 and his wife Zamu Kenkoonzi were shot while at Bataka Cell, Mwanjari Ward Southern Division, Kabale Municipality at around 08:40PM.

An eye witness told our reporter on condition of anonymity that gunmen attacked the victims as they footed home in Mwanjari Trading Center in Southern Division, after closing their Soda Depot Shop in Kabale.

All the deceased hail from Bushenyi district.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson has confirmed the sad news and said security agencies are working tooth and nail to get the assassins
