{UAH} Govt has failed to respect multi-party politics – Bishop

John Kwitonda/ Frank Mujabi/ Akim Jags odong,

Why have religious leaders failed to become the magnet for ressitance to the Kayibanda tyranny? Is it because of their corruption? Everytime a religious leader criticises Kayibanda, he quickly moves in and gives them sacks of money and five wheel drive cars and then their mouths  close  immediately. Remember the hullabaloo Bishop Lwanga caused when he claimed kayibanda had planted spies in his church-  immediately Kayibanda invited him and a few of his  bishops to Rwakituru, gave them sacks of money and buses and lorries, and we have never heard from them again. Yet religious leaders could have played a very huge galvanising role in the crisis the country is going through, but alas, thats not to be. I actually fear for the future of the established churches. They are quickly losing their relevance and congergations to the evangelical churches.
