Gulu Journalist Arrested for Exposing Love Messages From White Female Boss

Two journalists in Gulu have been arrested and detained after one of them exposed a series of sexual advancement messages he allegedly received from his boss.

The arrested are Favor FM journalist Jernan Loum, who exposed the love messages, and his colleague Willy Choowo from Choice FM,  who attempted to defend him following the arrest.

Mr Loum shared photos of the messages he got from Carol Favor, the patron of Favor of God, a Christian based NGO, which owns Favor FM.

Loum was immediately dismissed from the radio station and three days later, he was arrested by police and accused of failing to return station property.

His colleague Chowoo posted on his Facebook page the story of the arrest, and later  went to Gulu CPS to secure his bond but surprisingly police arrested him too, and embarrassingly stripped him.

Chowoo is now being charged with cyber harassment. The two, ChimpReports understands, are being driven to Kampala CID headquarters Kibuli.

We also obtained some of the messages from Carol to Jernan via her known MTN Uganda number +25677380***6.

One of the messages read, "How strong really is your love for me and is it truly single hearted?"

When contacted on phone, Carol Favor told our reporter that the radio management was working on a comprehensive statement to be released on Monday next week.

"Please call me Monday," she asked.

When pressed on the love messages, she said the arrest of the reporter was "not personal".

The Aswa regional Police Spokesman, Jimmy Patrick Okema confirmed the arrest and the transfer to Chowoo and Jernan to Kampala.

"Chowoo is facing cyber crime related charges and his colleague was reported to us for failing to return the property of his former employee," he said.
