A MUM told of her holiday hell at the Egypt hotel where British couple John and Susan Cooper died.

Kelly Chadwick, 40, lost 2.5stone after suffering extreme food poisoning and spent 10 days of her holiday bedridden.

She claimed she received no help while out there last September.

After arriving back in the UK, she had to postpone her wedding.

Kelly, from Chesterfield, Derbyshire, got £2,000 compensation from Thomas Cook.

"You felt like you were dying. It was awful."

John and Susan Cooper died within hours of each other at the Steigenberger Aqua Magic in the Red Sea resort of Hurghada.

Their daughter Kelly Ormerod, 40, today said she believes "something suspicious has gone on" as the pair from Burnley, Lancs, were fit and healthy before the holiday. 

Ms Chadwick can't believe the holiday firm carried on sending guests there and claimed about 12 other guests fell ill from food poisoning.

She said: "You felt like you were dying. It was awful."

She travelled to the resort with her fiancé Jonathan Bond, 36, her two teenage girls and her mother-in-law Anne – who also became sick.

Kelly said: "There was a funny taste to all the food. It just didn't taste right."

Thomas Cook has been approached for comment.
