{UAH} ON DREAM TV TONIGHT
THE PRESIDENT SHOULD USE APRROACH OF THE KABAKA
Some 500 years ago, a child told a saza chief that he could settle a
dispute between a family that owned a dog that had bitten a goat which
knocked a wall that fell on a baby and killed it instantly.
The chief had convened his court and failed to make a ruling and
instead led the plantiff and defending sides to the capital where he
decided to refer the matter to the Kabaka himself.
But even the Kabaka's Court failed but the chief remembered a goat
rearing teenager who had listened to both sides and wished to make a
ruling if he was a chief.
The Kabaka summoned the boy and avised accordingly and the Kabaka made
the ruling.
After that, he appointed him, the cusodian of the Royal Family who ,
henmceforth, would be charged with settling disputes among princes and
princesses.
This was in addition for him, being the Saza Chief of Busujju. He is
one of those who install the Kabaka during the traditional coronation
ceremony.
Every year childrenm and youths convened to parliament for mock
debates but all their recommendations and advice are ignored.
Even those who voted and those that were voted to chair village and
muluka committees are not aware that, the Vice Chairperson is also in
charge of children affairs.
Youths should not be leaders of tomorrow but should also be leaders of
today, behind the elders.
This will be one of the topics on Akiikembuga Extra program tonight
God willing, on Dream TV from 09.00 to 10.00 pm.
We had initially organised a presidential debate by Uganda Journalists
Association candidates but one of them has gone for a major pilgrimage
(Hadj) to Mecca and Medina holy cities and it will not be fair to host
only one.
Instead, l shall be joined by the Secretary General Mr. Moses Bayola
and the Administrative Secretary Mr. Richard Kiyimba. Stay tuned.
