{UAH} ON DREAM TV TONIGHT

PRESIDENT, KABAKA RIGHT.
During the cerebration of the silver jubilee of his coronation, Kabaka
Donald Muwenda Mutebi ll waned of an island of rich people surrounded
by a sea of the poor.
Likewise, on Wednesday the President , while talking about poverty and
unemployment among the youths, wondered why Uganda sent much of hard
earned foreign currency on importing shoes, textiles, among others,
which woulds have been home made here.
That reminded me BATA, Kayondo Shoe Shop, Kivumbi, Katwe, those were
large, medium and small scale shoe factories. But BATA imports some of
the shoes from China.
All these declined due to a shift in policy and we allowed out country
to be a dumping ground of used items including shoes.
There was Uganda Leather And Tanning Industry ( ULATI), unfortunately
it was one of the failed state owned companies. After it was sold off,
then came the Hassan Basajjabalabas exporting even fresh hides!
On textiles, we had NYTIL, UGIL, Kawempe, etc... which supplied all
primary and secondary schools, with uniforms, among others, they
declined partly due to allowing second hand and other sub standard
cloths in the country. Yet we were a good cotton growing country.
So if the President and the Kabaka don't want to eye wiriness a
revolution that is going to sweep away every thing, they should tackle
poverty and unemployment The Buganda riots of 2009, and what is going
on are symptoms for that.
The President has failed to identify and place NRM cadres in strategic
positions and he is now almost acting alone!
With the will of God, tonight from 09.00 to 10.00 pm, l shall be on
Akiikambuga Extra on Dream TV, talking about current affairs. Stay
tuned.
