Fw: {UAH} Sharon Otieno’s mother lifts lid on ‘relationship’ daughter had with Governor Obado

Bobby;

This is a sorrowful horrifying death and sure the arrested PA of Governor Obado (at JKIA fleeing to Kigali) plus the reporter's info is going to lead to the Obado's arrest and questioning!

I just returned to Nairobi early this morning and have just woken up!

Our sympathies go to the family of the late Sharon Otieno's family. RIP Sharon.

Edmund

Edmund/ Moses Nekyon/ Edward p'Ojim,

This is awful. Raila must do something about this   rogue governor immediately. I cant believe a governor whould commission the murder of his own pregnant  girlfriend  just because he fears a scandal.

BY ALY ABICH IN HOMA BAY COUNTY.

The mother of slain Rongo University student, Sharon Otieno, claims that her daughter had a "relationship" with Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

Melida Auma Otieno claims the relationship was imbued with unfulfilled promises of county business tenders that the governor had issued to the Second Year student, who traded in attire.

Sharon Otieno, 26, died while seven months pregnant, and her mother says the governor was "aware" of her daughter's antenatal visits to hospital.

"Okoth Obado knew how the girl was going for medical checkup [sic]," claims Auma Otieno.

"There is evidence in her phone log and texts. The girl's phone is with the Migori County Commander [Joseph Nthenge]," claimed Auma Otieno.

The varsity student's mother, who is a primary school teacher at Rabango in Rangwe Constituency, claims her daughter had been living in fear in the past two weeks. She, however, did not disclose what caused the fear.

"Sharon had sensed danger; she had sensed danger. She could not walk alone; that was why she opted to walk with the journalist, Barack Oduor, whom they were kidnapped with [last Monday]. Last week, that girl [Sharon Otieno] flew to Nairobi. The governor's P.A. [Michael Oyamo] was the one, who booked her the flight. Besides going to meet the P.A., her journey to the capital city was also business-motivated. She bought clothes there, came back to sell them here [Homa Bay]," said Auma Otieno.

"Out of a relationship that the governor knows how he started with my daughter, [now she is no more]," cried Auma Otieno.

"He lied to my daughter that he would award her business tenders in the county. My daughter even registered a company believing Obado would give her the business deal," said Auma Otieno.

"On the material day [Monday], I called her [Sharon] at 7pm asking why she hadn't returned home. Rongo, where she studies, and Yimbo, where I stay, are not worlds apart. She told me: 'I haven't met the governor's P.A. I am still waiting for him'. When I called her again at 8pm, her phone was switched off," said Auma Otieno.

"The governor should be investigated over my daughter's death."

Auma Otieno's claims come right after Migori County communications director, Nicholas Anyuor, dismissed allegations that Governor Obado orchestrated the abduction of 'Nation' journalist Barack Oduor and Sharon Otieno.

Sharon, the first born in a family of four siblings, was pursuing a bachelor's degree in Medical Records and Information at Rongo University in Migori County.

Mr Anyuor claims the allegations are meant to damage the reputation of Mr Obado.

He further demands that the media refrains from associating Mr Obado with claims that he allegedly impregnated and abandoned the university student.

Mr Anyuor argues that the incident is a political witchhunt and police should be allowed to conduct their investigations with no interruptions.

According to him, the arrest of the Governor's P.A. Michael Oyamo is not enough to link the county chief to the abduction saga.

Sharon Otieno was on Wednesday morning found dead in Kodera Forest in Oyugis, Homa Bay County, two days after she went missing.

The student had reportedly been abducted alongside the Nation journalist on Monday evening.

Mr Oduor, however, managed to escape by jumping out of the moving vehicle that his abductors had bundled them into.
