Here is one half of the famous UK comedy Duo Ant and Dec making a public update after he checked into a an alcohol rehab clinic. he was at a point of death at the time, but seems to have made good progress. .Making six months as a recovering alcoholic is the biggest fight any human being can fight- it is a tougher fight than fighting cancer, because most of it is actually fighting yourself, with little physical pain or medication involved. It is a battle that is winnable, but the war itself can never be won. Alcoholism is an opponent that doesn't know how to say no and never surrenders. Once it conquers your mind and self-will, you become a zombie and a slave at its mercy, beck and call. A good but over-generous boss, with immediate solutions to intractable problems and worries, Alcoholism takes too many chances and too many risks and inexorably sets his slave on a path to ruin. I salute all these caught up in this war with no end. They are heroes.
