{UAH} Bebe Cool, Catherine Kusasira replace Bryan White
"Why didn't Mzee (President Museveni) do this in the first place? Now see all of the money which was wasted on Bryan White and never yielded anything," a privy to the deal between President Museveni and Bebe Cool remarked.
(Front row; L-R: President Museveni and Catherine Kusasira at Bebe Cool's recent concertApparently, Bryan White had been a project established by President Museveni mainly to counter Bobi Wine by winning youths away from him.
All of the money he has been using has been coming from Jajja.
However, realising the project wasn't yielding any result since the public had got to know mission which made his work difficult, the project has been disbanded. Actually he was disbanded shortly after the Arua elections that was won by a landslide by Kassiano Wadri.
It ought to be remembered that days to the election, Bryan White had camped in Arua for weeks.
"Had Mzee gotten someone already known and has some money, it perhaps would have worked but how do you bring a person like Bryan White who doesn't even look a million and expect the public to believe him?"
Nonetheless, he has now been replaced by musicians.
According to our source, the funds will now be channeled to singer Bebe Cool and Catherine Kusasira.
The deal was finalised Saturday night at Lake Mburo.
It is one of the reasons that Bebe Cool that had been lined up as one of the artistes to perform at Gravitty Omutujju's 'Embuzi Zakutudde Concert' never turned up.
We have learnt that the role of the two artistes is to mobilise fellow musicians to pass Museveni's message through their songs as a way of luring the youths to his side.
Addition to this, they are to continue with Bryan White's projects of 'charity', 'awakening' and 'empowerment' of mainly youths in the ghetto who have turned out to be die-hard Bobi Wine supporters.
Initially, the project had been handed to the State House Comptroller, Lucy Nakyobe but owing to the hostile reception she got when she visited one of the ghettos to pass over the president's pledges, she decided to pull back and look for people who would do the job.
Her choice had been Kusasira alone but when Bebe Cool got wind of it, he was added too.
"She had tried to avoid Bebe Cool because he is unpopular at the moment but again, Kusasira had no musicians yet the project needs alot of musicians since they appeal alot to the youths."
The sum of money released to the project is yet to be known but the biggest beneficiaries will be musicians, youth groups and ghetto people as its them who are the intended recipients of the money, which is believed to be a huge sum.
Its upon this project that Bebe Cool's post made a day back was premised.
Bebe Cool's new song, Nsilikamu which hits at Bobi's supporters"Now we about to start a 12 months music, politics, information, awakening, thunderous, medical, reconciliation, effective, loving, annoying, assuring journey. Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts."
