Ugandan Among South Sudan Plane Crash Victims
A Ugandan identified as Twesigye Aggrey is among the 20 people who perished in a plane crash in Yirol River in Central South Sudan on Sunday morning.
A light passenger aircraft (Let L-410 Turbolet) carrying 23 people from capital Juba to Yirol city crashed into the river in an attempt to land in a thick fog.
The South Sudan aviation body released the names of the deceased that included 4 female adults, 1 female minor, 2 male minors and 13 male adults.
South Sudan Minister for Information, Youth and Cultural Affairs, Taban Abel Aguek said in a brief statement that the victims included an Anglican bishop, and also the pilot and co-pilot.
The only 3 survivors include 2 children and an Italian doctor working for a humanitarian organization.
