{UAH} Happy that a new Bridge has been constructed at the Nile waters in Jinja
Real progress stops when all the initiative goes into keeping "old stuff" working. Sure, a long life is nice for the living, and I wouldn't have it any other way.But Ugandans should acnowledge that most of the old stuff, particulalry built before 1970, aren't working properly, and need replacement. And if i may add, there should be a plan to replace them urgently. Old equipment and systems are not desirable. I'm,therefore, happy that a new bridge has been constructed at the Nile waters in Jinja. Yes, money was borrowed, some was, as usual, stolen, but this is a good devt. So,well done FDC chairman, Waswa Birigwa, for initiating the idea, well done Mr.Museveni for following it through, and thanks Japan for the loan.
I remember reading an article long time ago, and it was about how NewYork looked shitty in the 1940s. By the time the city took over the subways after a 50 year franchise, the equipment was obsolete as well as worn out being then 50 years old.Its unfortunate that most African countries are still being led by people born before our independence. Just as Museveni is replacing the old stuff, he, himself, should recognise that he needs to be replaced URGENTLY, such that there is a balance of new ideas in the country. Its just common sense!
