The First Ladies of the United States have traditionally curved their own marks around the world, irrespective of their husbands' standing around the globe.
Melania Trump is on course to claim her mark.
And like all her predecessors, Mrs. Trump deserves to be received and hosted with the highest regard and hospitality. She should not be lumped with her husband, or should she be treated unfairly because of him.
As the continent with the most generous spirit, borne of a culture that welcomes and houses visitors and strangers alike, Africa will not fail Mrs. Trump.
