{UAH} New NY TIMES Article-- How Museveni Exploits Refugees

Dear Editor

Please stop touting the story of Museveni being the most benevolent man in the world; accepting millions of refugees from neighboring troubles countries into Uganda, especially when Donald Trump will not allow the 'caravanists' from Central America. The problem we have in Africa are despots whom America and the West endearingly calls 'strongmen' – because they fight proxy wars against terrorists in countries where the West will not 'put boots on the ground'. Moreover, we now see a further effort to make them benevolent. This is utter malfeasance by collaborationists of dictatorship that is an anathema to American/Western values.

Museveni has a personal interest in refugees into Uganda. After 32 years of deceitful rulership, buoyed by threats, lies, falsehoods, fake promises, and now outright intimidation and bribery, Museveni's political support has ebbed to the lowest in Uganda. He is aware that in 2021 no sane Ugandan will vote him president. Youth unemployment is at 83%, service delivery is as shabby and shoddy as it can ever be, Uganda's economy badly pales in comparison to neighboring countries, human rights are trampled mercilessly, political freedoms have been thrown overboard and the little remaining are a farcical attempt at hoodwinking 'gullible' western donors.

Indeed, after the recent story in the NY Times, which vilifies Museveni as a benevolent leader, it appears like some Western collaborationists ask Museveni to maintain a minimum standard of farcical freedoms, which they can use to justify their 'friendship' with him – For example, after the 2016 farcical and sham presidential election that returned Museveni for the 5th time as president, Senator John Kerry quickly dubbed the election 'free and fair' only to be shamed by the decent EU observers, who agreed with most Ugandans by concluding that the same election 'did not meet international standards'; John Kerry has never been heard of in public since that time.

Museveni has a plan to replace the Ugandan voters with imported refugee voters, who are 'grateful to him for giving them a new safe home'. Unbeknownst to the refugees, and perhaps some people in the West, is that Museveni originates the crises that produce the refugees through client militias and guerrillas roaming East and Central Africa. The intention is to unsettle millions of residents in these crises' areas and 'herd' them towards Uganda. Whence in Uganda, Museveni sounds international alarms, obtains global funding, resettles the 'refugees', receives international accolades, awards citizenship to the refugees in 3 months, who after becoming bonafide Ugandans are so ready to vote their benefactor. The whole scheme is funded by the gullible praise singing Western governments, as Museveni chuckles in his tea cup. The refugee stunt further helps Museveni maintain some relevancy with his Western friends, some of whom are disgusted by his sordid democracy/human rights credentials.
