{UAH} Ocen/Pojim...: Rebel ODM party MP Aisha Jumwa refutes claims she ditched Raila for Ruto

Ocen/Pojim;

The youth crowd at the coast has not been swayed and I think Aisha Jumwa's days are numbered with those of Dori! DP camp now coming to support the Plebicite with conditions is a very very strong pointer! Only time will tell the final results.

- Jumwa said she was still in good relationship with her party leader, Raila
- She claimed there were people trying to ruin her friendhsip with the former prime minister
- Jumwa has on a number of occasions declared support for William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid
- The ODM party had summoned her, alongside others, to show-cause why she should not be disciplined

Aisha Jumwa, rebel Coast Member of Parliament allied to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, has strongly denied claims that she was leading a political rebellion against her own party boss, Raila Odinga, in the coast region.

The Malindi lawmaker, who was elected on ODM party ticket, has been at loggerheads with the party's officials and members for warming up to Deputy President William Ruto and even declaring support for the DP's 2022 presidential bid.

TUKO.co.ke on Sunday, October 7, learnt Jumwa was still in constant communication with her party leader, Raila, despite her open support for Ruto who belongs to a rival political party.

The vocal MP, Daily Nation reported, disclosed she was in a healthy relationship with her party leader and that she still had a lot of respect for the former prime minister, contrary to what a section of Kenyans had been made to believe.

Jumwa claimed Raila had absolutely no problem with her hanging out with the deputy president and her decision to campaign for the DP.
"If there were concerns, then he (Raila) could have called me to tell me those concerns, but he has not communicated to me directly about my decisions," she said.
The MP also alleged there were people who were trying to ruin the cordial relationship she had with the ODM party leader.

Jumwa and and her Msambweni counterpart, Mohammed Doritwo, had been summoned to appear before the ODM party disciplinary committee on Wednesday, October 10, at the Orange House, Nairobi, over their persistent public utterances against the party and its leader.

They, however, dismissed the summons with Jumwa noting she would rather go on a holiday on the mentioned day than appear before the committee.

Suna East MP Junet Mohammed responded saying if she (Jumwa) would not attend the summons another step would follow.

Junet noted if she fails to appear before the disciplinary committee, Aisha risked suspension or expulsion from the ODM party.
