{UAH} That’s an attack on journalist Suhail. How he’s put it is what he can remember

"Am sorry to whoever has been looking for me from different sources but I wasn't hiding or anything. This week nearly took me. I think my teleporting machine just delayed a little but may be I would have been somewhere else by now. This is what I became after a Monday night attack from behind on Kampala Road-Entebbe Rd traffic lights junction near Diamond Trust Bank a few meters away from Posta Uganda Police Booth.

I don't know what I was hit with, all I can remember is collecting myself up en finding myself somewhere to sit to regain some energy. By then, I was only breathing out so heavily en faster. I don't know whether I was breathing out in a bid to catch my breath or they were sighs of relief that I've survived this one.

This world is unjust, on getting up, i had some women yap; "nze mpulidde muntu agamba mbu woowe." En another one continued; "nze mbalabye nga bajja nengamba Ono awedde." U can imagine, someone sees danger en keeps quiet. Even more to that, after an attack, u take some time down fighting for your life as they look at u. Some guy I don't know gave me some 5000/= for transport thanks alot. 

Finally I was able to collect my whole en went to the Police Booth for the routine business. But I was unable to complete it c'se in the process I could feel the rate at which my head was growing bigger, was far beyond. So I knew I had an internal bleeding.

When this thought came into me, I thought that was the end of me. So I had to rush to my family as fast as I could. The taxify guys are known for obeying traffic rule but I got this one en told him I had to be home in no time without caring about the first aid. All that mattered at that point was my family.

I got home en as soon as I entered the house, I started bleeding through the nose. My sister couldn't avoid weeping at the sight of my condition. But thumbs up to my family, they did all they could to make my life better in that night. Scans were done en it was discovered I had four fractures at my front bones.

On Thursday I had the first surgery "Zygoma bone elevation" en it was successful though painful. Next Wednesday I have an appointment with the eye surgeon to make the final decision whether the fractures under my eye require an operation or not. But am getting back up well.

We were quick en called customer care to block my Airtel line though they had used it already. Hope they had not used it wrongly? As for MTN, they were unable answer. I think upto now these crooks are still using it. Am sorry for whoever was coned with it.

Am going to work on my lines by Monday. So am hoping to hear from everyone next week. #SouhailMaverick "
