Were you aware that today is supposed to be  a 'Uganda Diaspora Day' organised by Trafalgar Square? It is news to me- and I guess to almost all Ugandans in the UK.

UGANDA DIASPORA DAY UK happening now. A year ago, when I arrived in London, these Community leaders made a commitment to contribute to uniting Ugandans in Uk. Unity is strength. There are benefits in unity. Unity with a purpose thinking together as one.

Today they are here at the Royal Regency raising Uganda flag, exhibiting their company products in Uk, displaying their culture, foods, music and fun, away from the usual rush to and from work in various sectors in UK.

This event is apolitical, non sectarian, non segregative, and attempts to break barriers and walls that break us apart. Let go of the past and look to the future, was the key message.

We are Ugandans and proud to be UGANDANS.

UGANDA HIGH COMMISSION LONDON is happy to associate with this organisation and partly funded the event.
