There's a behind the scene story about this lunch which is telling the real dilemma DP Ruto finds himself in.
Ruto had planned the luncheon for President Uhuru alone. But Uhuru was aware of the message this private lunch at Ruto's residence would send to Raila and their Handshake Accord.
So, the president invited Raila to the lunch.
By protocol, if Raila was in the original invite, he would have arrived ahead of the president. But because the president included him on his way to Ruto's residence, Raila got there about 20 minutes after the president.
Sen. Murkonen was so shocked to see Raila's motorcade snake its way into the residence that he reportedly asked, "Is that Raila How?"
