{UAH} INDEED IDI AMIN WAS A GOOD MAN

Idi Amin was indeed a Great man. Look at the infrastructure he
left behind, including a ship builders yard at Luzira. And look at the amazing vessels that he left behind in 1979 and these must have been made of very genuine materials because up to now they are still floating and can easily be repaired. One imagines that there was a lot of business activity on the water between the three east African countries. We would be using Jinja road much less if these vessels still plied the routes on Lake Victoria. The is simply so much wasting in government. Most of these ferries that operate at Luzira come from Tanzania and yet they are the same age as the ones that belong to us sitting at the Port in Luzira. An expert told me that they are all repairable and very safe on water. I saw the biggest of these wasting monsters, it could carry the whole Uganda on its belly. So huge and beautiful with space that could carry several wagons.
Its so saddening that our pride, with the inscription Uganda Railways could just sit there and waste away, imagine the employment to our youths, the business opportunities to both government and private firms, the adventure and promotion of tourism, the pride these vessels would bring to the east African countries.
We are so poor, but we also waste everything we have, look at cars, trucks and heavy machinery sitting at almost every government institution, we could be rich or even richer
