Fw: {UAH} Ocen, Edmund, WBK//Top Kenyan scholar commited suicide

Pojim;

I concur with you 100% that we need to pay more concerted efforts to finding ways to treat this suicide 'disease' in our society. Most times we are too busy chasing career and matters cash selfishly that we have no time to notice a possible victim's body/mental/social (and what a view) language cries for help. It is such a sad ending.

I know of a similar incident of how another wealthy man who was married to my "sange's" sister committed suicide from the 8th floor of apartments he was building in Parklands. He was a close friend to both Kibaki and RAO, as was the implementing brains on uplifting the slums of Kibera to low cost apartments!

Often times, families and close friends tend hide suicide as they feel it lowers their self-image in society and will affect future contacts (especially marriages) in our African societal matters.

A great pointer to the Mexican soap: "Even the rich cry"!

RIP Prof.

Edmund

Folks;

The cause of the death of leading Kenyan mathematician, Prof. Mugenda,  has now been confirmed to be to suicide. Prof. Mugenda's family , and the university had said that Prof. Mugenda had died "after a short illness."

It's time we warmed up to suicide as a major cause of death, even among high class citizens.
