The ISIS monsters who beheaded two Scandinavian hikers in Morocco first wanted to murder a British tourist.

But the elderly Brit told the killers he was a Muslim and they let him go.

Moroccan counter-terror chief Abdelhak Khiam said the arrested men revealed they spoke to the unnamed Brit before the two women showed up.

It wasn't clear whether the unnamed man was actually a Muslim or whether he lied his way out of a trip to the funeral parlour.

Louisa Jespersen, 24, from Denmark and her friend Maren Ueland, 28, from Norway were allegedly decapitated by killers while backpacking in Morocco. FACEBOOK

The gang were lusting for the blood of westerners on behalf of ISIS when they spotted the man in the Atlas Mountains of Dec. 17, investigators revealed.

Tragically, an hour later, the group encountered university students Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, from Denmark, and Maren Ueland, 28, from Norway.

The girls were beheaded and their bloody corpses left in the tent they had erected. The decapitation of Jespersen was filmed and then circulated on the death cult's web forms.

One killer holding a fearsome knife shrieked in Arabic: "It is Allah's will."

Fifteen men have since been charged with terrorism-related offences in connection with the crimes.

The charges include forming a gang to prepare and commit terrorist acts and premeditated murder, Morocco's public prosecutor said in a statement.

Cops said more suspects will be charged in the coming days.

A Swiss-Spanish national was also arrested in connection with the murders.

Intelligence sources say the man is suspected of recruiting Moroccans and other sub-Saharan nationals to carry out terrorist acts in Morocco against foreign targets and security forces.

The suspects had pledged allegiance to ISIS three days before the students' bodies were discovered.

But Moroccan authorities claim the killers are "lone wolves" and the crime was not "coordinated with Islamic State."

The dead women were on a month-long adventure in Morocco when they were murdered.

They were described friends and family as "happy and sociable."Facebook
