{UAH} ON THIS DAY GEN. IDI AMIN DEPOSED DICTATOR MILTON OBOTE (Photo)
Photo: Nationwide jubilation as millions of Ugandans celebrated the
deposing of dictator Apollo Milton Obote, and the advent of new
military leader General Idi Amin seen here waving to the mammoth crowd
in the capital Kampala.
Exactly 47 years ago today, on 25th January 1971, Al-Hajji Field
Marshal Idi Amin Dada was declared President of the Republic of
Uganda. This was a memorable day for the people of Uganda. A leader
who became a genuine pro-African/anti-neocolonialism activist, and who
empowered Africans across the continent to fight for both their
political and economic independence.
Rest In Peace.
