ACHOLI MPS RESCUED FROM CENTRAL POLICE:

At least three of the Members of Parliament including Hon. Lucy Akello, Hon. Akol Anthony and Hon. Gilbert Olanya who were arrested during the peaceful demonstrations in solidarity with Apaa's struggle to protect their land were rescued from central police station by Gulu citizens.

Gulu residents and boda drivers rallied to defend them and somehow ensured their rescue from the station. It is unknown whether the organiser of the demonstration, JB Uhuru was rescued alongside them or is still imprisoned.

  George Okello William Owor, this land question is going to be the downfall of the brutal regime. It is the one issue that will unite Ugandans across the length and breadth of the country. Kayibanda is trying a form of social engineering- where land is taken away from peasants and given to a few in the ruling class working as nyamparas or agents of global capital or foreign economic interests. What happened in Europe, where land was taken away from peasants and given to a few land lords cannot happen in Uganda because in Europe, land grabbing went side by side with the agricultural revolution, and more importantly, with the industrial revolution- peasants threw away their hoes and sickles and put on the overall, helmet and boots to work in factories. There is no industrial revolution happening in Uganda anytime soon, and the peasant that the Rwandan outlaw kayibanda is dispossessing is the army that will kick his arse and send him back to Rwanda.
