BEHEADING OF SOLDIER LEE RIGBY, WOOLWICH, LONDON. On the afternoon of 22 May 2013, a British Army soldier, Fusilier Lee Rigby of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, was deliberately knocked down by a car on a quiet residential street near the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich, southeast London, and while struggling to get up, seriously injured, was then held down and beheaded by Nigerian muslim converts Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale . The gruesome murder took place just yards away from the block of flats where I used to live. The sight of Abebolajo, standing over a prostrate Lee Ridgy, with bloodied hands and sword on the road where my young children used to play and were in fact riding their bicycles on just a few hours before the attack still haunts me up to today and will never go away..
