{UAH} New 5-year post at Transport Studies Unit and School of Geography, University of Oxford (now with web link)
The Transport Studies Unit (TSU) in conjunction with the School of
Geography and Environment seek to appoint a Departmental Research
Lecturer in Transport Studies for a period of 5 years as soon as
possible. We are seeking an exceptional candidate at an early stage of
an academic career who has the potential, in the right environment, to
demonstrate leadership in their field.
The successful candidate will conduct independent research that is
international in outlook with a focus on transport and mobility in
and/or between cities. You will assist in teaching, marking and
supervision in the undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes in
the school, with contributions to PhD co-supervision. To undertake
this role you must have a doctorate in human geography or a closely
related field, with a focus on transport or mobility and have evidence
of high-quality research and publications in highly rated, scholarly
journals, as well as a record of obtaining research funding. You will
also need to demonstrate the ability to be an effective teacher of
undergraduate and graduate students of high ability, to lecture at an
appropriate level in an interesting and engaging manner, and to carry
out student assessment, examination and course design.
