ISLAMIC CALIPHATE FINALLY DISMANTLED. But at a terrible human cost.Almost 1 million dead and over 6 million displaced.. The vast and ambitious project created by Isis has been reduced to rubble. As many as 60,000 Isis fighters have been killed and a similar number captured or surrendered. The leadership has shrunk to a rump – although al-Baghdadi survives. The administration is no more. The training camps are gone. The flow of propaganda so instrumental in prompting attacks such as those in the UK has ceased. entirely. Should the world celebrate the defeat of a primitive medieval cult, one of the most brutal and barbaric groups ever to confront humanity? Only time will tell.
