{UAH} Maama Mabira joins NRM from GO-Forward!

I waited for Edris Kiggundu to write about the 2010 Christmas in Kitgum but since he hasn't, let me craft something. The days preceeding Christmas found us in Karamoja with the FDC presidential candidate, Dr Kizza Besigye who hastily went through his campaign program on Christmas eve in Kaabong district.

At about 8pm, we crossed into Acholi, Beatrice Atim Anywar was waiting at the Kitgum - Kaabong districts boundary with ecstatic Besigye supporters.

The convoy went all the way to Anywar's residence in Kitgum town. It is here that Besigye comfortably stayed through the Christmas holidays.

On Christmas day, Anywar led Besigye to Church, first to a Roman Catholic Church and later to the Anglican church where Bishop Macleod Baker Ochola led the Christmas service.

The highlight of the day was the sumptuous lunch Mama Mabira served us as she decorated Dr Besigye to look like a "Father Christmas." She then declared "You (Besigye) will forever be my President, you are the President of this home..."

"In tribute to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Uganda, two bastions of strength in a world filled with strife, discrimination and terrorism."
