{UAH} Pseudo-intellectualism can't play gunfire to panick a sure-footed politician!

Bobi Wine's performance during the recent TV interview which a good few judged as a set-back for Bobi Wine and many conclusions had to crop up, some of which qualified the young pragmatic on terrain politician as an unsure bet for the presidency ( a judgement by some of those pseudo-intellectuals many of whom are part of the lot that enjoys the loot) , is now proving to be a wonderful success for Bobi Wine! It's the quality of interviewing on a crucial question and the pseudo-intellectual reactions which followed that are  now being judged impertinent and somehow unprofessional! The question on fiscality was just a parachuted landing for which Bobi Wine wasn't quite prepared to give a concrete due response given the complexity of items required to convincingly and elaborately seek a qualified reply. Nevertheless, Bobi Wine proved very intelligently competent on such issues when he went far beyond the question and gave for response the main things which now stand to undermine fiscality : corruption and the unnecessary OTT taxes. A nation can't enjoy any good benefits from fiscality for revenue collection and government expenditure when there is uncontrolled very high levels of corruption through, among other very many things, abuse of public office for personal and private gains, embezzlement of funds, financial mismanagement of revenue in planning,  ETC.
On insisting on a zero tolerance policy against corruption Bobi Wine automatically scored a very good note by anticipating severe action against what undermines any planned government expenditure and an effort to stabilize the economy! Any mismanagement in finances is a big sore to anything related to fiscality especially in as much as it reduces total tax revenue.
The NRM regime introduced the OTT taxation as a means of fattening up fiscal policy. but Bobi Wine who has always been opposed to this measure was categorical in the interview when he propmised to do away with this OTT taxation once in power. Yes, he rightly sees this problem from an angle of good reflexion! This OTT taxation deprives millions of Ugandans of the only unique chance to communicate and initiate ideas that must be heading towards full autonomy in creative projects such as shops, small manageable factories, internet connection with the rest of the country or even of the world for fishing ideas on various items such as the effort to create employment in the locality and to improve on the welfare in the surroundings! Think of the millions of opportunities lost in this irrelevant taxation which openly undermines local revenue, in addition! When millions of young Ugandans are denied a chance to access internet and therefore be eventually part of that creative world which has pulled out of a ditch millions of their colleagues in Europe, Asia, America, and in many countries of Africa, etc it means they are left to rot in dullness and to be non contributive to the country's economic effort. They are kicked out of the revenue producing club....! Bobi Wine had wisdom on this question! Our youth as I see them wherever they are, even in Europe, are a very dynamic class which is hyper-inventive with a lot to bring to our economy!
In general the TV interview plays well in favour of Bobi Wine. And he has already created a song (?) about it. He didn't fail and that's one of the reasons which, among other very many things, precipitated NRM for a presidium in Kyankwanzi where Museveni advised the youth not to choose Bobi Wine because he was just only a musician! But any type of person regardless of his status, profession, etc.. can contest for presidency! The office is for all citizens and not for a few.... Even much of the international community would now like to see Bobi Wine acceeding to the presidency because he has competence for the job as an individual who cares for all! And much of the international community sees in him the leader almost quasi-plebiscited to promote the youth and to cater for the marginalized in Uganda. It isn't true that he can't rule a country once voted in power. He is a person who listens and who will combine with the relevant to do great deeds. He can direct and he can be advised where he needs to seek counsel from others. If he's judged incompetent it's because those who make judgement on him are inspiring from those outdated NRM narratives which have thrown the nation to backwardness! The people globally look at this Bobi Wine issue from an experienced angle that calls for pragmatism. And see how his People Power is spreading in all corners of the country to the extent of even scoring highly in two students guild elections, Makerere University and Kyambogo University. NRM was just dished out and thrown to political dust-bins! No wonder even the army and the police are now producing many People Power sympathizers!!!
Bobi Wine, sure of himself and careful with his great decisions, will continue to triumph and to surprise many, including the steadily collapsing ruling NRM whose efforts to divide the opposition are landing on an unshakable solid rock!
G.H.K.
