On this day 28th of April, 1993 the football world was plunged into mourning. A military aircraft carrying the Zambian national team then known as the KK Eleven, crashed into the waters off the Gabon coast of Libreville. The team was on its way to Dakar, Senegal to play against the Lions of Teranga in a crucial qualifier for the 1994 World Cup.
