Where is the next generation of teachers coming from? The profession has become so unattractive to  young people- not because teaching is less exciting than it used to be, but because of the uncontrolled behaviour of pupils and students that make teaching a no-go area for many well-meaning people. Everywhere in the world, youngsters are impossible to control- especially since we have generally removed all powers of control from teachers and criminalised corporal punishments, children in many UK schools are the ones in control of the classroom. The Catholic schools are the only ones that try to exert control, but this again depends of parents willing to cooperate with schools and their disciplinary measures, which many are against..
