NEW TO ATHEISM? ATHEIST CURIOUS?
If you were raised in a religious family and community, you may think atheism is very odd--perhaps absurd. You can leave it there if you like, or you can spend a little time to learn about atheism and find out why well over a billion people around the world reject all gods.
There are plenty of good books on the subject but, the easiest way I know to cover all the basics is to read four short articles online. I wrote them to be straightforward and to help you to understand--not to confuse you or trick you.
It will take about half an hour to read all four articles. You'll find answers to questions like:
Why do humans believe in gods?
Why do people become atheists?
What is atheism and what is it not?
What do atheists believe and why?
What is agnosticism?
Is atheism a religion?
Does morality come from God?
Can atheists be moral without God?
At the end of each article, click on the link to the next one.
But, a word of warning, once you've learnt about atheism, you can't unlearn it and it might start you thinking...
