{UAH} 'Nubian queen' becomes Sudan protest symbol

Mayiumuna,

You dont need not go far down the memory lane to recall I have written several times about Nubian revivalism. Here is a living example Kandaka,  the Nubian Queen, who has now symbolised the Sudanese uprising against the brutal  islamist regime of Omar Bashir. The Nubians have stood up and are intent on reclaiming their place in the sand. They have kicked Bashir's arse. Without the overwhelming support of the Nubians,  Bashir and his Islamist party would still be in power now.

Bobby

"She has been dubbed "Kandaka", which means Nubian queen."
