{UAH} Patrick Amuriat has been arrested

The president of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party Patrick Amuriat has been arrested in the eastern district of Tororo following a scuffle with the area police. Mr Amuriat was leading a team of FDC officials including four-time presidential candidate Kizza Besigye as they attempted to stage a rally as part of the party's ongoing nationwide mobilization drive ahead of 2021. As we came on air, the latest was that Mr Besigye has locked himself inside a car to evade arrest.
