It was sheer excitement on Tuesday for majority of Ugandans as two of the initial aircrafts that will carry the Uganda national flag touched down at Entebbe airport, eighteen years after Uganda Airlines ceased operations.

Two CRJ900 Bombardier model jetliners arrived at the Old Entebbe airport on Tuesday morning and were officially received by President Yoweri Museveni. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including the Vice President of Bombardier Inc., Ministers, MPs, diplomats among others.

The newly manufactured aircrafts were given a water canon salute upon arrival. They will be part of a fleet of four Bombardier planes that will be making regional flights and two Airbus A330-800 Neos that will in coming years be making the longer international routes.
