I have just seen this video of a copper badly beaten up on the streets of Kisumu- Nothing strange about a copper being beaten up, but what has shocked me is the calm reaction of his fellow coppers- they simply pick him up and walk him gently to a police vehicle and drive him away, presumably to the nearest hospital. They do not lay a single finger on the crowd that has gathered. This is a world away from the way Kayibanda's jack-booted thugs would react. That street would now be a  complete battlefield, reduced to  rabble, littered with broken limbs and even dead bodies. kayibanda's thugs would use live bullets and rape women in revenge. kenya is still a long way ahead of Uganda as far as coppers and the rule of law is concerned- although I pity the poor chap.
